Yoga was developed over 5,000 years ago, in India to help unite the mind, body and spirit! Simply put, yoga is a combination of poses and stretching techniques, combined with breathing, in the form of gentle exercise that anyone can do! Yoga comes in many levels, from beginner to advanced, which can be intense and vigorous.
Everyone can benefit from a yoga workout. Age, gender and physical ability is not a factor. All that is needed is an open mind!
The New York Times says, “The original context of yoga was spiritual development practices to train the body and mind to self-observe and become aware of their own nature. The purposes of yoga were to cultivate discernment, awareness, self-regulation and higher consciousness in the individual.”
